Fishing in Lesnaya
Nymylan elders‘ knowledge of fishing was documented in Lesnaya, on the north-west coast of Kamchatka. In excerpts of the DVD Traditional Knowledge in the World of Koryak Fishing, they talk about the seasonal procedures, fishing grounds, rituals and worldview, values and behaviour as well as sustainable management of resources. This documentation on traditional knowledge of sustainable and socially responsible management of fish resources has also been the basis of the workbook for local educators on Kamchatka.
