“As a child I often experienced landscapes by hearing accompanying music inside myself. This former immediate connection now frequently only emerges later by sounds that are related to my experience of a landscape. Kamchatka with its majestic volcanoes and wonderful flora and fauna has become like a second home to me. My deep interest in vulcanism and geomorphology has opened my eyes to this beauty and many aspects I never noticed before. The photographs are the outcome of this engagement. The music is not supposed to simply illustrate but is an attempt to create a sonority liable to have a similar effect on listeners to the one the landscapes had on me."
