Scholarships and other professional integration initiatives

From June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023, Oleksandr Vasiukov from Ukraine received a research grant to continue his dissertation project on the topic: "Language Building in Kashubia and Silesia: The Perception of Ethnic Groups", which he successfully completed.

Mark Zdor, a student from Chukotka who had to flee St. Petersburg to escape repression in connection with the war in Ukraine, is able to improve his precarious living situation through a work contract with the Foundation for Siberian cultures and to qualify for later professional activities in science and research.

Further efforts are currently being made to establish a stable network of ethnologists who have fled Russia with the aim of maintaining important research relationships and counteracting increasing misinformation in Russia.
