Workshop on language documentation within the framework of an ELDP project
From 28 August - 4 September 2019 Erich Kasten attended a training course by ELDP and ELAR teams at SOAS University in London, which covered various aspects of language documentation including audio and video recording, annotation tools (ELAN, FLEx), data management and archiving. This training was related to two projects funded by the Endangered Languages Documentation Programme (ELDP) of the Foundation for Siberian Cultures. One of these grants is for the sustainable archiving of existing recordings in the Foundation's holdings on the Itelmen, Even and Koryak languages of Kamchatka. A further grant provides for language documentation on Chukchi language.
