Itelmen songs and dances
The Itelmen ensemble El’vel’ performs dances accompanied by the Itelmen songwriter Anatoli Levkovski, who likes to combine Itelmen and Russian genres in his compositions. During the Alkhalalalai Feast and other festive occasions of the community, songs in Itelmen are also performed by youth who learned them at daycare centers or school. Another example shows Elena Zueva and her grandmother Tat’iana Gutorova rehearsing their repertoire of Itelmen songs for a tour of the ensemble Nulgur in Germany.
