Even songs and dance
Erich Kasten documented Even songs and dance in the Bystrinski district in central Kamchatka. The recordings are a part of the publication Even Tales, Songs and Worldviews, Bystrinski District, a book and a DVD with the same title.
During the workshop Children of the North – Cultural exercises, the Even Maia Lomovtseva and Aleksandra Urkachan, who is of Koryak-Even origin, exchanged dances. In the example given here, Maia Lomovtseva explains the origin and the meaning of her dances. Similarly, Aleksandra Urkachan showed traditional Nymylan dances to her friend that Aleksandra had been taught by her mother.
During tours in Germany and Switzerland the ensemble Nulgur and Or'jakan presented choregraphic performances of Even dance motifs.
